On July 6, New York enters Phase 3 of the reopening of some public places and a large number of businesses, mainly restaurants and cafes. So we are very positive because little by little the city begins to come back to life. Although, in the same way, this has been a demonstration of trust on the part of the authorities towards us, that we must correspond responsibly. Do not forget the use of face masks, maintaining the distance between us and others, as well as constant hand washing. We need you healthy!

El próximo 6 de julio Nueva York entra en la Fase 3 de reapertura de algunos lugares públicos y una gran cantidad de negocios, mayormete restaurantes y cafeterías. Así que estamos muy positivos pues poco a poco la ciudad comienza a volver a la vida. Aunque, de igual forma, este ha sido un voto de confianza por parte de las autoridades hacia nosotros, que debemos corresponder con responsabilidad. The High Line

One of the places that we have needed open during these complicated months has been The High Line. The reason has been that thanks to all the ranges it has, thanks to its extensive length, we can have wonderful views, and even enjoy different climates as we go through it. And what we must learn in this ‘new reality’ is that mass meetings are in the past. Uno de los lugares que nos ha hecho falta durante estos complicados meses ha sido The High Line. La razón ha sido que gracias a todos los alcances que tiene, gracias a su extensa longitud, podemos tener vistas maravillosas, e incluso disfrutar de distintos climas conforme la vamos recorriendo. Y lo que debemos aprender en esta ‘nueva realidad’ es que las aglomeraciones quedaron atrás; por lo que el acceso a este gran atractivo turístico será reducido, siempre vigilando que no haya saturación de ninguna índole. The good news is that from July 1 we can already have access to some New York beaches, although it is evident that it will be restricted. The city has officially reopened our beaches for playing, swimming, sunbathing, and even just taking a break. The rule as in any place is to maintain social distance, to wear masks at all times while out of the water.

La buena noticia es que desde el 1 de julio ya podemos tener acceso a algunas playas de Nueva York, aunque es evidente que será de forma restringida, como en todos lados. La ciudad ha reabierto oficialmente nuestras playas para chapotear, nadar, tomar el sol, e incluso sólo tomarse un descanso. La regla, como en todo lugar, es la de mantener distancia social, usar cubrebocas en todo momento mientras se esté fuera del agua.

As of June 22, our mayor Bill Di Blasio has given the green light to the reopening of some playgrounds throughout New York. This has been great news for children and much more for parents, as we must admit that spring became unexpectedly prolonged due to the current crisis. So kids can have fun and relieve stress in some park with age-appropriate games. So here we go some of them: Domino Park (Brooklyn), Billy Johnson Playground (Central Park), Beach 30th Street Playground (Queens), Hester Street Playground (Chinatown), y Williamsbridge Oval (Bronx).

A partir del 22 de junio nuestro alcalde ha dado luz verde a la reapertura de algunos parques infantiles a lo lardo de Nueva York. Lo que ha representado una gran noticia para los niños y mucho más para los padres, pues hemos de reconocer que la primavera se tornó insospechadamente prolongada debido a la actual crisis. Así que los chicos pueden divertirse y liberar estrés en algún parque con juegos adecuados a su edad. One of the big attractions of New York is Governor’s Island, and that’s why there you can find a lot of activities for everyone: in the water and out of it.
